The Medizificon Verlag ( spelling : medizificon Verlag ) for medicine, finance and controlling, based in Mannheim, existed since 2005; In 2009 the company moved to Oldenburg , and then at the end of 2011 to Frankfurt am Main . The publisher's name was formed from the three major subject areas. In 2014 the company was taken over by Heidelberger medhochzwei Verlag .

The publisher's focus was on the topics of health economics and hospital financing . The publisher's titles were aimed at hospital doctors, medical controllers, and medical documentaries.

The first titles were DRG coding guides for various medical specialties. These books should help hospital staff to settle accounts with the health insurance company, which has been required by law since 2004. In this area, medizificon was one of Germany's leading specialist publishers .

Furthermore, textbooks and exercise books were published, always with a practical approach, so that the reader can apply the information collected immediately. The publisher was economically independent. Five to six new titles were published each year (including the coding guidelines, which were reprinted annually due to the regular changes in the coding guidelines).
