The Medical Academy Łódź ( Polish Akademia Medyczna w Łodzi ) was a university of medicine in the Polish city of Łódź .

The Medical Academy Łódź was founded on January 1st, 1950 by the decision of the Polish government of October 24th, 1949, with the subjects of medicine , dentistry and pharmacy . The Medical Academy Łódź was until July 27, 2002 an independent medical research and teaching unit in the university landscape of the city of Łódź, which trained 15,517 doctors , 6103 dentists and 5,350 pharmacists .

The Łódź Medical University was created on October 1, 2002 by merging the Łódź Medical Academy with the Łódź Military Medical Academy .
