The village was 475 m above sea level, 20.6 km northeast of Moravský Beroun and 11.5 km northeast of Dvorce on the left Mohraufer at the foot of the Medlice castle ruins on a hill, right on the border between Moravia and Silesia.

history

The houses were packed together and formed a round or clustered village . In the land register of 1600 the place is mentioned as a little town Medlitz , was entirely German and owned a hereditary bailiwick. About the size of the place in 1600 the land register of the Sternberk rule informs : "And there are only 12 sat in this little town" . It was a small part of the castle that sank down to the village due to the unfavorable living conditions. In 1826 all the farms including the church and school were burned, which plunged the inhabitants into the deepest poverty.

In 1834 "Mödlitz" / "Medlice" had 45 houses with 333 inhabitants (148 male and 185 female), was parish in Hořejší Kunčice, but owned a school under the authority of the authorities, as well as a daughter church with an altar built in 1766 for the Visitation of Mary and two bells from 1480 and 1505, in which Hořejší Kunčice held services. The first wooden church was built in 1569 and belonged to the parish Hořejší Kunčice. The church, built in 1766, had no distinctive style and only a small turret on the church roof. The cemetery was around the church. The first regular classes were given around 1780. The last used school building was built in 1824 by Prince Liechtenstein. It was one of the smallest school buildings in the district and had a 6.3 m by 5.6 m classroom for 40 school children. It was right next to the church.

According to the 1921 census, the village had 74 houses with 77 residential parties. Of the 303 inhabitants (149 male, 154 female), 297 were Germans and 6 foreigners, 301 were Roman Catholics and 2 were baptized Protestants. The municipal area comprised 570 ha of land, 344 ha of arable land, 79 ha of meadow, 19 ha of pasture , 92 ha of forest and 36 ha of undeveloped land.

The municipality Mödlitz / Medlice consisted of the districts Mödlitz, Mährisch Hartau / Moravská Harta, Steinmühle / Kamenný Mlýn, Kunzendorfer Mühle / Kunčický Mlýn, Heidenpiltscher Mühle / Bílčický Mlýn.

After the Munich Agreement , Mödlitz was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the district of Bärn .

After the expulsion of the German population in 1945/46, the population decreased rapidly.

After the Kružberk drinking water dam was built between 1948 and 1955 , Medlice, as well as Lesy and Kerhartice, were dissolved. Most of the buildings were demolished or leveled. The corridors of Medlice were initially added to the municipality of Hořejší Kunčice and in 1974 incorporated into Jakartovice .
