The Megenzer von Velldorf came from the village Felldorf bei Horb, which today belongs to Starzach, and were originally vassals of the Counts of Hohenberg , later also the Margraves of Baden . First recorded around 1280, they died out at the end of the 17th century.

Well-known representatives of the noble family

  • Contz (Conrad) Megenzer von Felldorf (* around 1340) was the son of Friedrich Megenzer von Felldorf and grandson of Walter Megenzer von Felldorf. He was mentioned in documents from 1356 to 1368: 1363 as the 'sister man' of the three young Schenk von Stauffenberg, on March 11, 1363 as 'Cuontz der Mägentzer' as guarantor for 'Cuntz des Schenk von Stöffenberg', on July 16, 1365 again as 'Sister man' and again in 1369.
  • Adelheid Megenzer von Felldorf (* 1390; † 1436), the daughter of Contz (Conrad) Megenzer von Felldorf, was married to Hans von Plieningen and Wangen (* around 1370 in Wangen).
  • Jörg Megen [z] er von Felldorf (* around 1400), who seized part of the castle Entringen von Ulrich von Lichtenstein , undertook on August 26, 1448 to keep the truce like the other commoners.
  • Junker Hans Veit Megenzer von Velldorf († July 1, 1580) was stabbed to death on July 1, 1580 in a dispute by the 19-year-old Count von Lichtenstein.
  • Joachim Megenzer von Velldorf was the margrave of Baden forester and hunter with his seat on the Rohrburg around 1630 and was appointed Obervogt von Ettlingen in 1636 .

  • The imperial field marshal lieutenant Johann Georg von der Hauben (1657-1717) and his brother, the Worms canon Johann Lothar von der Hauben (1655-1723), had a mother from the Megenzer von Velldorf family.
