The Mehlsack (originally White Tower near St. Michael ) is a fortified tower in Ravensburg that was built around 1425 . The name comes from its white plastering and the round shape.

The flour sack is located on the south-eastern edge at the highest point of the old town in the direction of the Veitsburg . With its height of 51 meters on the St. Christina slope above the city, it is a landmark of the city of Ravensburg that can be recognized from afar . The platform of the tower was used by the citizens to control the Veitsburg site, which until the 17th century was in the hands of the governors, the political opponents of the free imperial city. The tower thus fulfilled a similar function as the Sackturm , built in 1443 in Warburg .
