Mehurići is a small village in the municipality of Busovača in the Central Bosnia Canton in the center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina . The village in the mountains above the municipality of Kaćuni is about 28 km south of Zenica and about 82 km northwest of the capital Sarajevo .

geography

The village can be reached via an only partially paved road leading south from Kaćuni into the mountain region. In addition to the very fertile soil, the flora is home to a large number of coal and limestone deposits. The fauna is interspersed with wild animals such as wild boar , roe deer , capercaillie , etc. Due to numerous illegal hunting events, the brown bear, which is very common in this region , has been brought into great distress. However, exact numbers or statistics are not available.

economy

A small economic source of the region is the charcoal , which is produced by the locals themselves, packaged and then offered in the big cities. Due to high unemployment, there is a high rate of emigration , which particularly affects the young population. The village itself is increasingly taking on the shape of an abandoned mountain village.
