The project was initially supported by Walter Gunz, one of the founders of MediaMarkt / Saturn , and Christian Haidinger. Uluileri was previously Marketing Director at MediaMarkt / Saturn. In addition to Ali Uluileri, Michele Arcaro has been a member of the MeinProspekt management team since 2011. Arcaro was previously Head of Key Account at Yahoo! According to media reports, the SWMH Group paid a mid-six-figure sum in 2011 for a minority stake. Functionality and range

At MeinProspekt, users can search shopping brochures from more than 300 different providers sorted by city. For the most part, this includes large retail chains, but also some retailers. In addition, MeinProspekt offers further information on the dealers, such as opening times or location displays on a city map.

With apps for iPhone / iPod, iPad, Android, MeeGo, Windows Phone or Symbian, users can find out about current bargains in their area on the go. In 2012 MeinProspekt developed an app for Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating system. In the study “mobile facts” on mobile reach published by the Online Research Working Group in September 2012, MeinProspekt achieved 15th place among apps across all platforms (monthly reach). According to the Google Play Store, the MeinProspekt application was one of the 15 most popular apps of the year in 2013.

Market environment

The advantage of digitally displaying advertising brochures, so-called e-brochures , is often cited as a saving in paper and the associated protection of the environment. According to MeinProspekt, the wallets of the advertising companies that have to struggle with wastage of their printed brochures should also be spared: MeinProspekt estimates that on average only half of all printed advertising brochures reach consumers and are then mostly not noticed. With digital brochures, on the other hand, end consumers could be targeted, who mainly obtain information online or via mobile devices.

The market for digitized direct mail has long been considered competitive. Since the complete takeover of MeinProspekt by Bonial International GmbH in July 2014, the company , which is majority owned by Axel Springer Verlag, has expanded its market-leading position as an advertising solution for retail in the mobile and stationary Internet with KaufDa and MeinProspekt. In 2012, the Internet company Google also launched the “weekly offers” service.
