Joseph Muggenthaler

Joseph Muggenthaler (born October 17, 1855 in Aufhausen near Landau an der Isar , † February 9, 1931 in Pfarrkirchen ) was a German lawyer and Bavarian local politician .

Career

Muggenthaler was born in Aufhausen in 1855 as the son of the teacher Johann Nepomuk Muggenthaler and his wife Johanna Autzinger. He studied law in Metten and Munich . During his studies in 1875 he became a member of the Passavia student union , renamed the Danubia Munich fraternity . In 1884 he came to Passau as legal counsel. In 1886 he married the parish lawyer daughter Maria Wolf in a civil registry office in parish churches . The church wedding took place on August 3, 1886 in St. Paul in Passau. From 1894 to 1917 he was the legally qualified mayor of Passau .

The lieutenant general of the Wehrmacht Hermann Muggenthaler (1888–1972) is his son.
