Joseph Schweizer

Franz Joseph Schweizer (born December 19, 1794 in Passau ; † June 3, 1849 ibid) was a Bavarian local politician.

Career

Schweizer was born in 1794 in Passau-Innstadt as the son of the middle-class leather worker Johann Paul Schweitzer and his wife Elisabeth Popper. In 1827 he married the daughter of a ship master and wine owner, Louise Wenzl. He was the legally qualified mayor of Passau from 1846 to 1849 . During his tenure, the Donaustraße was laid out to Obernzell , the Ilzstadt was provided with a bank wall, the Inn bridge was renewed and the Passau town hall was expanded to include the former dicastery building in the Schrottgasse.
