Gottlieb Seidl

Gottlieb Seidl (born January 24, 1774 in Passau ; † September 17, 1823 there ), also Theophil (us) Seidl was a Bavarian lawyer and mayor .

Career

Seidl was court attorney in Passau. From 1818 until his death he was the city's first legally qualified mayor. During his tenure, Passau was promoted to first class in 1818. In 1819 he had the city wall torn down in front of the town hall and in 1820 the gate to the Danube bridge on the Anger . The state prison and the military penal institution were housed on the fortress Oberhaus in 1822.

He died of a stroke in the town hall on September 17, 1823.
