Ludwig Sternecker

Ludwig Sternecker (born August 24, 1852 in Eltersdorf ; † February 2, 1914 in Dinkelsbühl ) was a Bavarian mayor .

Career

Sternecker was born as the son of a pastor. He went to high school in Ansbach . He studied law in Erlangen , Leipzig and Munich . During his studies in Erlangen he became a member of the Bubenreuther fraternity in the winter semester of 1872/73 . In 1879 he passed his exam and then worked as a law student. After the death of the mayor of Dinkelsbühl, Michael Schobert , he applied for his successor in response to a newspaper advertisement. Out of the seven applicants, Sternecker was elected legally qualified mayor of Dinkelsbühl on February 18, 1882. He remained in office until 1913.

Together with the district master builder Max Neeser, he initiated several urban development measures. The city park was built in 1883. In 1899 a new building for the Progymnasium was decided.

Under his chairmanship, the Historic Association Alt-Dinkelsbühl was founded in 1893.
