Meinert Löffler

Meinert Löffler (born February 23, 1872 in Vegesack ; † July 7, 1950 there ) was a community leader in Hammersbeck and a blacksmith on the Bremen volcano .

Life

After training as a blacksmith, Löffler joined the metalworkers' association and the SPD . In 1896 he started as a blacksmith at Bremer Vulkan , where he worked for 40 years.

In 1904 Löffler was elected to the Hammersbeck municipal council. In addition, he was active in the SPD and the trade union and campaigned for the construction of settlements. On September 9, 1918, he became a community leader elected by Hammersbeck. During his tenure, the local council decided in October 1921 to join the community of Aumund due to financial difficulties . In local politics he continued to work as the mayor's representative until 1933.

Honors

A street in Vegesack is named after him.
