Master of the Dangolsheim Madonna
With master of Dangolsheim Madonna (or master of the Madonna of Dangolsheim ) is a Gothic carver Denoted 1460 in Alsace walnut a figure of the MTA with the baby Jesus carved. Today the work is praised as "one of the greatest Madonna figures of the late Middle Ages".
Naming
The master of the Dangolsheim Madonna got his emergency name after his medieval work, which after being removed from the church in the modern era of the 19th century was kept for some time in the town of Dangolsheim in a private house near Strasbourg . The work exhibited today in the Bode Museum shows the artist's innovative way of working.

It is generally assumed that the master of the Dangolsheim Madonna is Niklaus van Leyden , who was active in Strasbourg at the time the work was created.
