Master of the hunting scenes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A plaque artist is known as a master of the hunting scenes , who in Nuremberg around 1570 to 1580 designed plaques with hunting representations cast from lead .

His bas-reliefs mostly show small-format typical scenes of forest landscapes with deer hunting or hare hunting. The master follows the style of the plaque sequence from Peter Flötner , who also lived in Nuremberg; however, according to experts , the master of the hunting scenes does not quite achieve the same skill in creating plaques.
