Tanner Foust (born June 13, 1973 in Denver ) is an American racing driver and stuntman . He takes part in drift events , rallies , ice races and rallycross competitions and has won many podiums and various championships. He is also a (co-) presenter in some American TV shows, including the motorsport TV series Top Gear USA until 2016 .

Career

He graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in biology. He was scheduled to co-host the American edition of Top Gear , but NBC did not publish the show. The broadcaster History Channel finally included the program, which had been modified in the meantime, in 2010. Tanner Foust was the only driver to co-host the show.

Foust has appeared in films like The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift , Iron Man 2, and Ein Duke rarely seen alone as a stunt double and stunt driver. He is also a participant in Formula Drift, where he won the championships in 2007 and 2008. This makes him the first driver in Formula Drift history to win the championship twice in a row. Foust is also a rally driver; He has been taking part in the X-Games since 2007 and won gold in 2007, silver in 2008, bronze in 2009 and double gold in 2010 at the so-called rally events . At the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, Foust announced a new partnership with Volkswagen & Andretti Autosport . In the FIA World Rallycross Championship 2014 he was the first non-European to take first place in the World RX 2014.

In the second season of the Americas Rallycross Championship 2019, he took first place in the overall standings after his team partner Scott Speed ​​received the championship title the previous season .
