Master of the Altar of Zeigerheim
With master of pointers Heimer altar (also sometimes pointer Heimer Master ), the carver referred back to the 15th century, the Gothic carved in the village church of hands Home in Rudolstadt has created. The artist, unknown by name, created a figure of Mary surrounded by 12 figures of saints. Among them is Sankt Urban , patron saint of viticulture, who is still practiced in the area today.
The master of the Zeigerheim Altarpiece is sometimes assigned to a school in Saalfeld , in which some of the carvers who were working at the same time as him around 1490 in the area of today's Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district are grouped.
