Joel Lamela

Joel Lamela (born January 29, 1971 in Nuevitas ) is a former Cuban sprinter .

The most significant success of his career he achieved by winning the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. The Cuban team in the line-up Andrés Simón , Joel Lamela, Joel Isasi and Jorge Aguilera reached the goal in 38.00 s behind the United States (37.40 s) and Nigeria (37.98 s) seasons. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, he was sixth with the season.

In addition, Lamela won the season with the title at the Pan American Games in 1991 and 1995. He was 1991 Cuban champion in the 200-meter run and won the silver medal at the Ibero-American Championships over the same distance.
