Master of St. Augustine

A painter from Flanders in the late Gothic period is called Master of St. Augustine (wrongly also Master of the Legend of St. Augustine ) . The artist, not known by name, was active in Bruges around 1480/90 . It is named after the winged altar that he created with scenes from the life of St. Augustine . The name goes back to Max J. Friedländer .
