Triptych: Sinziger Calvarienberg
Lamentation of Christ
Lamentation of Christ: closed altar
Lamentation of Christ: back of wings

The master of the Sinziger Calvarienberg is an unknown artist or artist's workshop who created this triptych from 1480, which Johann and Sophia Foehlen donated to the Sinzig parish church of St. Peter .

Hans M. Schmidt , like Paul Clemen before , also assigned the triptych "Lamentation of Christ", around 1470 and the "Tabula artis bene moriendi" in Aachen, to this workshop in the treasury of St. Chrysanthus and Daria in Bad Münstereifel . The origin of the workshop at the two plants in Sinzig and Bad Münstereifel can be easily recognized by the identical floors on the wings. It should be noted that the bottom of the "Lamentation of Christ" is on the back of the wings, which can be seen when the altar is closed and shows the apostles Peter and Paul, while the checkerboard pattern can be found on the Sinzig work in the death scene of Mary. The back of the wings of the Sinziger triptych are no longer there.
