Mekides Abebe Demowoz (born July 29, 2001 ) is an Ethiopian obstacle runner .

Athletic career

Mekides Abebe gained her first international experience in 2017 at the Junior African Championships in Tlemcen , where she won the gold medal in 10: 11.80 minutes. The following year she won the silver medal over 2000 m obstacle at the African Youth Games in Algiers in 6: 26.86 minutes and thus qualified for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires , where she won the silver medal. The following year she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and won there in 9: 35.18 minutes.
