Mel Walker

Mel Walker (actually Melvin E. Walker; born April 27, 1914 , † November 9, 2000 ) was an American high jumper .

On August 12, 1937, he set a world record of 2.09 m in Malmö , which lasted until 1941.

In 1938 he was US champion, in 1939 and 1941 US indoor champion. Starting for Ohio State University , he became NCAA champion in 1936 .
