Melani Mitsch ( born Melani Marcantonio on December 1, 1983 in Marktoberdorf ) is a former German-Italian handball player . Your playing position was back center .

Career

Melani Mitsch began her career at the age of seven at TSV Marktoberdorf in the Allgäu. In her youth, she moved to the then Bavarian state division club TSV Lohr am Main. In the following year she played for the second division club DJK Augsburg-Hochzoll . When this club had to deregister due to a lack of financial means for league licenses, they switched to league rivals HSG Bensheim / Auerbach in 2003 and won the championship of the 2nd handball Bundesliga (group south) with this team in the 2009/10 season. From the 2010/11 season until 2012 Mitsch played in the 3rd division at FSG Sulzbach / Leidersbach . Then she moved to the third division club SG TSG / DJK Mainz-Bretzenheim . In May 2014 she had to end her active handball career for health reasons.

The married high school teacher with a combination of sports and mathematics played for the Italian national team, both on clay and in the hall. On June 28, 2009, she became European beach handball champions with Italy in Larvik, Norway , and the same team later became world champions.
