Melanie Caroline Steffens (born April 8, 1969 in Aachen ) is a German psychologist and university lecturer.

Life

Melanie Steffens was born in 1969 in Mützenich (Monschau) and lived there until she was 20, after which she studied psychology from 1989 to 1994 at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . She did her doctorate and habilitation at the University of Trier .

In 2004, Steffens became professor for psychology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . Since 2009 she has been the director of the Institute for Psychology.
