The Meldemannstraße is a street in the 20th district of Vienna Brigittenau , district part Zwischenbrücken . It is named after the Nuremberg cartographer Nikolaus Meldemann .

The residential street running parallel to the Danube stretches between Adalbert Stifter and Hellwagstrasse and crosses Höchstädtplatz . The best public way to get to Meldemannstraße is by underground line U6 ( station Dresdner Straße ), tram lines 2, 31 and 33 and bus line 37A (each station at Höchstädtplatz). She became known for the men's dormitory of the same name, opened in 1905 and in operation until 2003, in Meldemannstrasse , where Adolf Hitler lived from 1910 to 1913. Meldemannstrasse was a popular meeting place for pimps and prostitutes.
