Origin and meaning of the name

It can be a modification of Melina or a short form of Magdalena . As an independent name, Meline is derived from Emmeline. In French, Meline is a short form of Ameline, which in turn derives from the name Amalia . Meline can also be an independent name of Hessian origin. Meline also has the Greek meaning "the sweetness of honey".

Meline is one of the fifty thespiads and therefore a mythological figure. She is the daughter of Thespios and the mother of Laomedon.
