Mel Dalusjan ( Armenian Մելինե Դալուզյան ; born April 20, 1988 as Meline Dalusjan in Leninankan ) is an Armenian weightlifter .

Career

Before coming out as a transgender , Mel Dalusjan took part in the 2006 World Cup under his previous name Meline Dalusjan , where he won the bronze medal in the weight class of women up to 63 kg with a total performance of 232 kg.

He won the gold medal at the 2007 European Championships in the category up to 63 kg with a total output of 243 kg and the gold medal at the 2008 European Championships in the category up to 63 kg with a total output of 235 kg. In 2009 he was fourth with 228 kg, in 2010 second behind Oxana Slivenko in the 69 kg class with 260 kg.

At the 2009 World Weightlifting Championships , he was sixth in the snatch and in the duel.

Doping ban 2018

Based on the test results of doping samples taken at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Dalusjan, like four other weightlifters, was suspended by the world association IMF on December 23, 2018 .
