Melitta Berg

Melitta Berg (born March 21, 1939 in Singen / Hohentwiel ; real name Melitta Killenberger  ) is a former German pop singer who was briefly known at the end of the 1950s.

Life

Melitta Berg grew up in Singen (Hohentwiel) not far from Lake Constance . As a child, she performed with the local men's choir. In 1956 she took part in the young talent competition Schlager and Chansons of the Südwestfunk . Then she got a record deal. Her first recordings were The Bells of Cornwall and I Must Wiederseh'n You , but only with her third single Ob he still loves me ... / Dario , she hit the charts. In 1959 she had ended up with only you, you, you alone , a German cover version of the hit To Know Him Is to Love Him of Teddy Bears, her resounding success as a pop singer. The two following titles were also able to place in the charts. In 1962 she also recorded the song A Rose from Santa Monica , but Carmela Corren had a hit with it. Since her further success as a singer was denied, she withdrew from show business.

She then trained as a geriatric nurse and practiced this profession until her retirement.
