Life

Heim studied and became a. a. trained by Johannes Ress (1839–1916). After completing her studies, she went to Graz , where she began as a coloratura singer. In 1911 she was the first female coloratura soprano to go to the opera house in Frankfurt am Main , where she was already able to celebrate successes. She then went to the Vienna Court Opera and sang at the Drury Lane Theater in London in 1912 and 1914 . Most recently she was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera , where she largely disappeared from the stage due to a nervous disease in 1922 and only gave concerts occasionally. As a Jew, she emigrated to Great Britain in 1938, where, despite her illness, she again gave more concerts. She died in 1950 of a heart attack that struck her in the middle of the street.
