The program showed video clips by foreign performers, mainly from Western society and especially from France and Italy. This broadcast made it possible for the citizens of the USSR to hear original Western hits for the first time. The CPSU party had full right of objection. The program was broadcast at night. In order to prevent the broadcast songs from being recorded, a short summary was played during the intro, which often even extended into the song, with the speaker tone being turned higher than the tone of the video.

Featured artists were u. a. ABBA (some songs), Joe Dassin , Boney M , Afric Simone , Pupo , Demis Roussos , Julio Iglesias , Karel Gott and Riccardo Fogli .

When Mikhail Gorbachev took over political power, the program was discontinued because Western artists were now able to perform in the country.

The program will be repeated in the 4th program Vremja of the family of channels of the Pervy channel , which only broadcasts programs from the former Soviet Union.
