Melville Arthur "Sparky" Vail (born July 5, 1906 in Meaford , Ontario , † January 29, 1983 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player . During his career he played for the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League between 1928 and 1930 .
Career
For the 1928/29 season, the New York Rangers brought Sparky Vail from the Springfield Indians to the NHL. There he was used both as a defender and as a left winger. When the Rangers sold him to the Providence Reds in 1930 , this ended his NHL career. After a few years in Providence, he played for various teams in the International Hockey League before ending his active career.
