Melyane Island (English; Bulgarian остров Меляне ostrow Meljane ) is an ice-free island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands, 280 m long and 90 m wide in a southeast-northwest orientation . As the southernmost of the Dunbar Islands off the northeast coast of Livingston Island , it is 1.27 km west of Slab Point and 2.52 km northeast of Kotis Point .
British scientists mapped it in 1968, Bulgarian in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2013 after the town of Meljane in northwestern Bulgaria .
