Menes ( Greek  Μένης ; died after 331 BC), son of Dionysius from Pella , was a soldier of the Macedonian king Alexander the Great .

He was born in 333 BC. Admitted to the ranks of the king's bodyguards ( somatophylakes ) during the Asian campaign as a replacement for Balakros . In 331 BC In BC Menes in Susa was appointed hyparchos of the provinces of Phenicia , Syria and Cilicia , which was associated with the supervision of the civil and financial administration in these provinces. In addition, he received 3000 talents from the king, with the order to send them to the ruler of Macedonia, Antipater , as financial support for his fight against the Spartans . He was also supposed to organize the shipping of several veterans to Macedonia.

His post among the bodyguards was then given to Perdiccas .
