Maasmechelen menhir

The menhir on the Mechelner Heide is located in the Hoge Kempen National Park (Dutch National Park Hoge Kempen), which opened in 2006, on the Mechelner Heide west of Maasmechelen , near the border with the Netherlands , in the province of Limburg in Belgium .

The menhir stands next to a slightly smaller lying stone and about forty meters south there are two other larger stones. They probably come from a former quarry . There is a signposted hiking trail for the Hoge Kempen National Park nearby .
