Wettin menhir

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The menhir from Wettin is a menhir near Wettin , a district of Wettin-Löbejün in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

Location and description

The stone was first identified as a menhir by Bodo Wemhöner in 2004 . More precise information on dimensions and material is not available. It is said to have great resemblance to the menhir of Gimritz , which has been destroyed today , but in contrast to this it is not related to a burial mound .
