Thorsten Otto

Thorsten Otto (born February 23, 1964 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ) is a German moderator and author.

Career

Otto grew up in the Upper Palatinate, studied law, but switched to moderation after the first state examination. After an internship and traineeship at a broadcaster in Nuremberg and attending an editor, reporter and moderator school at SWF3 , he went to EinsLive for two years . Then he switched to ZDF sports.

In 1998 Otto switched to Bayern 3 , where he moderated the current midday magazine for years. Furthermore, this year he received celebrity guests for the first time on Sunday morning at Stars & Hits .

From October 2008 to the end of 2018 he hosted the interview program Mensch, Otto! , which was broadcast Monday to Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., alternating with Brigitte Theile in Mensch, Theile! . Until December 2016, he also interviewed Mensch, Otto! On Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - Stars on Sunday celebrities. However, this program was discontinued due to austerity measures.

At the beginning of 2019, Otto switched to Bayern 1 , where he moderates the talk show Blaue Couch , which is broadcast Monday through Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., alternating weekly with Gabi Fischer .

His book Finding the Right Words was published in July 2016 .
