Simon Tatham (2012)

Simon Tatham (born May 3, 1977 ) is an English programmer .

He is best known for the creation and maintenance of PuTTY , a free Telnet - Rlogin - and SSH - Clients for Win32 - and Unix platforms. He is also the author of an xterm - terminal emulator . Tatham also created the first implementation of Netwide Assembler (NASM).

His How to Report Bugs Effectively article is often used to train users before they start reporting software bugs .

Tatham also maintains a popular collection of small puzzle games available for Unix ( GTK + ), Windows , Mac OS X , Android , Nintendo DS and Symbian S60 platforms .

He graduated from the University of Cambridge and currently works at ARM Limited .
