The Mercado del Puerto ( German  port market ) is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .

The building, which was built between 1865 and 1868 and opened on October 10, 1868, is located in the Ciudad Vieja on Piedras, Pérez Castellano and Rambla 25 de Agosto de 1825 . The engineer RH Mesures was responsible for the construction of the metal structure designed and manufactured in Liverpool , and Eugenio Penot was responsible for the masonry . The ten meter high market hall houses numerous shops and restaurants and has a floor area of ​​1687 m².

Nearby is the Edificio Jaureguiberry .

Since 1975 the building has been classified as the Monumento Histórico Nacional .
