Mercantile Mutual Cup 2000/01

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mercantile Mutual Cup 2000/01 was the 32nd National List A cricket - Championship in Australia . The competition was held between October 8, 2000 and February 25, 2001 between six Australian first-class representations of the states. In the final, New South Wales beat Western Australia with 6 wickets .

format

The six teams played in a group twice against each other team. There were four points for a win, two for a draw or no result and no point for a loss. A bonus point was awarded if, in one sense, one's own run number exceeded that of the opponent by 1.25 times, and another point if it was even more than double that of the opponent. Furthermore, it was possible that teams were deducted points if, for example, they played too slowly. The group first and second qualified for the final.
