The Mercedes-Benz M 129 was a six-cylinder in - line engine with manifold injection and a displacement of 2.5 liters manufactured by Daimler-Benz from 1965 to 1969 . It was the injection version of the M 108 carburettor engine that was being produced at the same time .
General
With intake manifold injection and the increased compression ratio (increase from 9: 1 to 9.3: 1 or 9.5: 1 from 1966) this achieved a significant increase in performance compared to the carburettor model. Otherwise the unit remained essentially unchanged.
