Merencha up as a likely identification of the flame or knife lake the area of the rebirth of the sun god Re and the dead. From an inscription to the text passage of the Book of the Dead that the region Sekhet-tjau in the late period gave the name, it can be seen that the inhabitants of Sechet-Iaru may be able to observe sunrise and sunset like Re in God's birthplace .

After qualification the deceased can participate in the daily earthly journey of the sun god; at the same time, after his rebirth in the water of Merencha, he can move freely throughout the Duat as well as on earth .
