The Merz Pharma GmbH & Co. KGaA is an international aesthetic and pharmaceutical company headquartered in Frankfurt am Main , German production sites in Reinheim and Dessau and other international locations. The company develops and produces, among other things, products and medical technology devices for aesthetic medicine, medicines for patients with neurological movement disorders, and other prescription medicines.

Merz Pharmaceuticals

Merz Pharmaceuticals focuses on the two business areas Aesthetics and Specialty Neurology. In the field of aesthetics, Merz offers products that help improve the appearance by tightening and rejuvenating the skin, as well as medical technology devices for non-invasive treatments.

In the field of special neurology, Merz researches and develops therapy solutions for patients who suffer from neurologically caused movement disorders such as dystonia and spasticity .

In 2013, Merz bought the Swiss company Neocutis, which primarily sells aesthetic dermatology products through doctors in the USA, and in the same year took over the Swiss company Anteis, which produces fillers for aesthetic medicine. With the acquisition of the US company Ulthera for almost 600 million US dollars in 2014, Merz entered the business with medical devices for non-invasive facelifts . In the USA, Ulthera sells, among other things, a device that has been approved by the American drug approval authorities and which doctors can use to effectively treat cellulite .

Merz Consumer Care

Merz Consumer Care GmbH develops health, beauty and wellness products that are sold under the brand names Merz Spezial (e.g. Merz Spezial Dragees ) and tetesept.

The products for self-medication include remedies for colds as well as preparations for the prevention of illnesses, for the treatment of everyday ailments and disorders. Merz Consumer Care also produces bath products, vitamins, minerals and preparations for skin, hair and fingernails.
