Messapus (King of Sicyon)

Messapos ( Greek  Μέσσαπος ) is, in Greek mythology a king of Sicyon . Eusebius of Caesarea attributes 47 years of reign to him.

During his reign, Joseph is said to have ruled over Egypt . In addition, prevailed in his time ogyges over Boeotia and Belochus over Assyria .

Pausanias does not know him and lets Peratos follow Leukippus directly. Augustine of Hippo states that some chroniclers also called this king Kephisus.
