Meta Muscat

Meta Muscat (born August 9, 1903 in Kassel ; † January 15, 1978 in Trendelburg ) was a German painter .

Life

M. Muscat studied at the arts and crafts school in Kassel. From 1923 she worked as a technical draftsman and was a student of W. Schliephacke for one year. From 1926 to 1929 Muscat worked as an interior designer, after which she was freelance and lived in Kassel until 1947. Muscat moved to Hofgeismar, lived and worked as an artist until 1961. She spent the last few years in Trendelburg. Again and again she painted landscapes, still lifes and places from the Hofgeismar , Trendelburg and Reinhardswald regions . Muscat died in 1978 and is buried in the Trendelburg cemetery. Muscat painted Hessian landscapes from the region, portraits, still lifes and places, castles and many other motifs from the area. She painted her pictures in the impressionist style and liked to combine the brush technique with the spatula technique.
