Metalurgia International

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Metalurgia International (proper spelling: METALURGIA INTERNATIONAL) is a Romanian scientific journal in English published by the Romanian Metallurgical Foundation . Editor in charge is Professor Gheorge V. Lepădatu . Contrary to what its title suggests, the magazine prints articles from a variety of scientific fields. According to press reports, the magazine's business model is that authors have to pay a publication fee: “A main author pays 140 euros, co-authors each pay 75 euros. In return, the text will be published quickly, and after transferring the sum you will receive a certificate upon request, which makes it possible to have the publication fees reimbursed by the administration of your own university. "

The journal takes advantage of the pressure to publish that most scientists are exposed to. However, the Belgrade professor and computer scientist Dragan Đurić got the impression that there was a lack of quality control by the editorial staff and decided to prove this with an apparently abstruse article. He wrote a five-page essay on hermeneutic heuristics and cited in it a. a. Max Weber with a work from 2003, as well as experts such as Ron Jeremy , Slobodan Milošević and an A. S. Hole. The article has been published. Editor Lepadătu admitted that the publication was a mistake.
