Ron Jeremy (* 12. March 1953 in Flushing in the district of Queens , New York ; actually Ronald Jeremy Hyatt ) is an American porn star and an actor .

life and career

Jeremy is the son of a Jewish family. Before his porn career, he studied theater studies and appeared as an actor . For a short time he worked as a teacher for the learning disabled, but in the 1970s, after taking amateur photos for Playgirl , he decided to work in the emerging New York porn scene. In the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, during the so-called “golden era” of porn, the production of such films was still more tailored to the cinema than to the video market - and illegal. He was arrested twice for this, and in 1988 only escaped a prolonged prison sentence by a Supreme Court ruling ( California v. Freeman , 488 US 1311 (1989)).

Jeremy was nicknamed "The Hedgehog" by fellow actor Bill Margold in 1979 when he flew from New York to Los Angeles to watch the film in short and t-shirt only in warm California weather To shoot “Olympic Fever” . He developed dangerous hypothermia on a long motorcycle ride to the film set near Lake Arrowhead, during which the weather turned into blizzard-like conditions. When he arrived at the film set he was immediately "thawed" in the shower, and when he came back from this, his skin had taken on a rosy hue due to the strong temperature difference and all the hair on his body was sticking out. When Margold saw him like that at that moment, he said to Jeremy: “You are a hedgehog, my friend. A walking, talking hedgehog. "(" You are a hedgehog, my friend. A walking, talking hedgehog. ")

With 1,750 films he holds the Guinness record for the largest number of appearances in pornographic films . He has also directed around 100 films himself. Ron Jeremy claims of himself to have coitus with over 4,000 women. He was also popular as a producer / director with the actors because there was always a relaxed, collegial party atmosphere on his porn sets and he paid fair and cash, reports in his autobiographical book "From the life of a postmodern good-for-nothing" by deutsch -american entertainment and erotica author Jerry Hoss, who often accompanied his then girlfriend Sabrina Jürgens from Cologne to porn shoots in California.

He also played supporting roles in some non-pornographic films such as Killing Zoe (1993), Orgazmo (1997), Studio 54 (1998), The Bloody Path of God (1999) and Spun (2002). A scene with him in the film Ronin (1998) was cut out again in the final version because a preview audience laughed after they recognized him. He has performed under several pseudonyms, including Bill Blackman, Lolita Brooklyn, David Elliot, Ron Gerimiah, Ron Hedge, Ron Hiatt, Ron Jeremy Hyatt, Ronald Hyatt, Ron Hyatt, Ron Hywatt, Lulu Latouche, Nicholas Pera, Nicolas Pera, Norm L. Pera, Norm Prestissimo and Ron Prestissimo. In 2001, Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy was made , a documentary about his life.

The Finnish band Pepe Deluxé was financially supported by Jeremy in the production of an album, in return they recorded an exclusive EP for him. In 2007 he was honored with a song by the Sugarettes on their album Love & Other Perversities .

Sexual violence allegations

In June 2017, the webcam model Ginger Banks published in a YouTube video that she was collecting allegations of sexual violence by Jeremy. As a result, there were numerous requests to speak, mostly from women from the porn industry and (as a rule) not reported. Ginger Lynn accused Jeremy of rape (2003) as did Jennifer Steele and Danica Dane . Steele said Jeremy raped her in a photo shoot and in his apartment in December 1997. Some of the allegations relate to his appearances at porn conventions, claiming that he inserted his fingers into vaginas without consent. The police have also filed two reports of women who do not belong to the porn industry. Exxxotica organizers finally banned Jeremy from their shows in October 2017 after a social media campaign by Ginger Banks. The industry organization Free Speech Coalition has canceled its “Positive Image Award”, which it presented to Ron Jeremy in 2009. Jeremy claims that all sexual acts were consensual. In June 2020, Jeremy was charged with the rape and assault of 4 women in Los Angeles.
