Orgazmo is an American comedy from Trey Parker and Matt Stone from the year 1997 .

The comedy is about virtuous Mormon missionary Joe Young, who is persuaded to star in a pornographic film . He declares himself ready to earn enough money this way to marry his fiancée in a temple .

In the movie-within-a-movie, he plays a superhero named "Orgazmo" who, along with his assistant "Choda Boy", fights crime by using his ability to climax anyone at any time . The film quickly became a box office hit and the producer of the film tried to exploit the missionary. The Mormon decides to fight back by means of the orgazmorator from the movie, which Choda Boy really invented in his spare time, and actually receives the powers that the film character already had. He uses these powers to bring the corrupt filmmaker down and reunite with his fiancée.

The film was completed in 1996, but was not released until after the success of South Park , as Parker could not find a film rental company .

When he first met the porn producers, Parker's character Joe Young defended himself using martial arts . In fact, Parker is a black belt in taekwondo .

Parker was on the Certificate disappointed "NC-17", which received the film because he knew that this review typically means the Kassentod. So he tried to remove any content that might have been found offensive; Despite the film's theme, the original version contained next to no nude scenes. According to the guidelines of the MPAA , the judges are not allowed to disclose why a film received a certain rating, as this borders on censorship . So Parker had to guess. In an interview related to the film, Parker was asked if he knew any Mormons personally. Parker replied:

“I grew up in Colorado, so there were many Mormons who attended school with us. In fact, my first friend was a Mormon. Every Mormon I've ever met is a great person, and for me it was a great role to play [Joe] - it wasn't about making him give up his religion like Joe's been stupid all along would. He is a Mormon, wins, destroys evil, and remains a Mormon. The Mormons win. "

The American porn actor and film actor Ron Jeremy can be seen in the role of Clark, with other porn actors such as Max Hardcore , Chasey Lain and Julie Ashton in supporting roles . Troma founder and filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman plays a PhD role.

Reviews

Orgazmo received rather mixed reviews. The lexicon of international films said: “An over-the-top parody of the porn industry and superhero films, whose disrespectful gags, however, aim badly below the belt.” The TV Movie described the film as an “extremely funny parody of erotic and superhero films”, but also as "cheap production". The TV Spielfilm rated the film benevolently and wrote in its conclusion: "Hammer-hard trash for hardcore fans".

The well-known US film critic Roger Ebert only awarded half a star out of four possible.

The Internet Movie Database has an average rating of 6.2. On the Rotten Tomatoes website, 66% of the visitors liked the film.
