Metin Külünk (born November 16, 1960 in Güneysu ) is a Turkish politician (AKP) and a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey . As his party's representative for Germany, he organized covert protests and actions against opponents of the AKP , supporters of the Gülen movement and Kurds in Germany . He worked with the Turkish secret service Millî İstihbarat Teşkilâtı and the AKP support organization UID, formerly UETD . His actions in Germany took place in consultation with President Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu .

Life

Metin Külünk was born in 1960 in the province of Rize and now lives in Istanbul. He studied civil engineering at the Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi . He was a member of Akıncılar Derneği and is the author of five books. He used to be a member of the board of directors of the youth organization of the National Salvation Party (MSP) from the Milli Görüs movement. Today Külünk belongs to the AKP and sits for it as a member of the Turkish National Assembly.

As the Stuttgarter Nachrichten and the ZDF magazine Frontal21 researched, Külünk steered a network of organizations and groups in Germany that are supposed to enforce the interests of the AKP in Germany. These included the Turkish rock club Ottoman Germania and the AKP support organization UETD. Külünk was the mastermind behind the protest events against the resolution of the Bundestag to recognize the genocide of the Armenians in 2017 in Berlin.
