Metrodan Beer Sheva
Metrodan Be'er Scheva ( Hebrew מטרודן באר שבע) is the operator of public bus services in the Israeli city of Be'er Sheva in the Negev desert .
The company was founded in 2003 and is in private hands. The Dan-Buskooperative of Tel Aviv is also involved in it. That is why "Dan" is part of the company name.
In 2006 Metrodan operated 20 urban bus routes with a fleet of around 90 buses. Be'er Scheva is one of the Israeli cities where public transport is of great importance and is widely used.
Before 2003, public transport was operated by a municipal company, which, however, had to be privatized due to financial difficulties. Besides Nazareth and the greater Tel Aviv ( Gush Dan ) area , Be'er Scheva was the only Israeli city that did not have public transport operated by the Egged Cooperative.
