mewithoutYou is a post-hardcore band from Philadelphia , Pennsylvania .
The band consists of singers Aaron Weiss, Michael Weiss, Christopher Kleinberg (both guitar ), Greg Jehenian ( bass ) and Rickie Mazzotta ( drums ).
The band name mewithoutYou is based on the parable of the vine from the Bible ( Joh 15,5 EU ):
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
“I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him brings much fruit; because you can't do anything without me. "
style
The music is mainly shaped and characterized by Aarons Weiss' singing in drastic pitches. In addition, there is often a very prominent and distorted bass, which results in a more experimental sounding. In their album Brother, Sister , the band also uses various percussion instruments , as well as the accordion and harp.
