The Mezný vrch (German: Schellenberg , 606 m) is a heavily forested mountain east of the Selb-Wunsiedler plateau in the Czech Smrčiny Nature Park (German: Fichtelgebirge ), 500 meters from the German-Czech border. It is located two kilometers northwest of Libá (Liebenstein), district of Cheb (Eger). The Hengstberg is located to the west across the German territory . To the north of the Schellenberg is the Liebensteiner Tor border crossing with the gate chapel on the Ackerl.

In the geomorphological breakdown of the neighboring Czech Republic , the Hazlovská pahorkatina (German: Haslauer Hügelland ) is assigned to the (inner) Fichtelgebirge as the main unit Smrčiny (I3A-1).
